Heal our nation…

Heal our Nation

flag-2

Lord Jesus, there is none higher or more glorious.  You are our sovereign God.  As a nation we humble ourselves before the Lord.  Pour out Your, healing.  We ask for the forgiveness of the sins of this nation: murder of the innocent, worship of money and power, self-will and indulgence.  Please forgive us, we are undeserving of Your grace and mercy but beg for it anyway.  Save this nation for the sake of the remnant and we will worship You, with new hearts a lit with a passion to bring You Joy our Lord and Master.  We pull down and cast out entitlement, indulgence, power, money-lust and coveting in Jesus name.  We pour over our nation a new desire for right standing with God a burning commitment for prayer for revival.  Drench us in Your mercy as we seek Your face.  Heal us; bind up our wounds by the power of the blood of Jesus, Amen.

Please be in agreement with and pass this on to other prayer warriors. The Lord’s word says that if we humble ourselves, He will heal our nation.  Please join me in humbling ourselves.  Thank you.

James 5:16 (AMP)

Therefore, confess your sins to one another [your false steps, your offenses], and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power].

The movement of God

God moves in the time between the strike of a question mark and the capitalization of the next sentence in the story of our lives.
When I ask God a question, He often moves in ways far beyond my understanding. Okay so when I say often, I mean always.
It is 2 ½ years ago today when I asked the Lord for someone to disciple me. I was very specific in my request to the Lord. I needed someone who was farther along in their journey with Christ in the gifting of intercession or prayer. When asking God for help we may think that we know what we need or even more laughable we may think we know what we will get. He will always give exceedingly, abundantly more than we can ask or think.

My petition for a disciple was no exception to the rule of God’s faithfulness and overabundance of love. It was an awkward moment calling a woman that lives across the country, whom I had never met to ask her to be my disciple. She was strangely unfazed by this unexpected phone call. We talked about where I was at in my walk and she in her walk and then we prayed. We have never stopped praying sometimes we pray daily, hourly or sometimes not for weeks.
What we never expected was that two hearts in agreement in prayer under the will of God can transform not only the heart of the person being discipled but the disciple herself. The ripple cast out by our faithful prayers, reached places we would never have dared fathom. There are times during these 2 ½ years where she held me up but just as many times when I held her up. I am eternally grateful that our Great and Glorious God hears not only the words of our prayers but our hearts as well. He knew that I needed a disciple, and whom to give me and he knew that my disciple needed me, our union has been a beautiful blessing in my life. Never think that the quest to come alongside a fellow established our budding Christian is not worth the time or effort.
What Christ grants you when you are in obedience to His Word cannot be measured. Matthew 28:18-20 requires obedience, it is a call to discipleship. But listen to the overflowing God at the end of this scripture, His promises are exceedingly above what we could ask or think. “And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. ”
Pray: Lord Jesus help me to not be afraid to ask for someone to be brought into my life to disciple or to be under discipleship with. You are faithful to give us what we need and not what we ask for and for that we are eternally grateful. Hear our hearts Lord even when our words fall short. Provide for us in only the way the great Jehovah-Jireh can. We praise you God. Thank you, Jesus Amen.

Should is make-believe

Stop shoulding:
Stop telling yourself , I should be able to do….., my kids should be able to do that… I should be doing more, achieving more…

or worse yet the shouldn’t s

I shouldn’t have to work this hard. My husband shouldn’t be doing that… I shouldn’t feel this way.

There are hidden deceptions lurking just below the surface, with all that shoulding, ready to steal our joy. One lie is that I can’t be happy without… We begin to question what does that mean if my kids can’t do that and so and so kids can. Will my kids ever be successful, happy etc. Whatever is going on in my life am I doomed to it forever? All these deceptions and make-believe scenarios, are time suckers and leave us exhausted.

God isn’t a make-believe or imaginary God. He is a real and ever present God. Ask for His wisdom and eternal perspective, not our fleeting and faulty view of reality.

Jeremiah 1:5
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

God has a specific plan for you and your family that does not involve wasting your time shoulding. Get out of the make believe in your head and begin looking to God’s promises for you. According to one person’s count there are 3,573 promises within the bible. What does God’s heart have for you?

Pray: God reveal Your heart to me. I need Your presence in my life. Help me to let go of the “shoulds” and embrace the joy of now and live. You are a great and mighty God help me to remember with You for me, who can stand against me? I ask You to help replace my shoulds with thank you Lord. Thank you most high and sovereign God. Have your way within my life as I surrender my and my families future to You. Grant me Your wisdom and even a sliver of Your eternal perspective. Grant me Your revelations, Lord.
I love you and thank you Jesus. Amen

Pray? Why?

Pray because you want the maker of the universe to align you with His purpose not for you own short sided laundry list of wants. As you pray God re-aligns your priorities, what you wanted sometimes becomes irrelevant and other times becomes the very fire of your life.

Someone once asked, “Why would I spend time asking God for what I want when He already knows”?  Prayer is about surrender, faith and the transformation of the human involved not the listing of needs for God to carry out.  You need to state your wants and surrender them to Christ.  Confessing your wants to God is a testimony that You believe God could meet your desires.  If you are reluctant to bare yourself, and tell God what you want, it is an admittance you believe God can not help you, so why ask?

Don’t make the mistake of believing if you are not getting what you asked for it is because God is punishing you.  That is not the case He is the Alpha and the Omega, He is already with you at the end of the race in heaven.  He will only provide for you, what is best for you, not what is easiest.  God is not interested in your comfort, but is interested in your character.  Developing character doesn’t happen during the great times, but does during the refining trials.

For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.” Hebrew 12:6, NLV  We should not count trials as something to be ashamed or fearful of.  When we ask God to transform us, we can expect there will need to be refining fires to accomplish this.  Nobody wants to endure trials, but they are a necessary and a sweet victory when we succeed.  Whenever we choose to surrender to God, while going through a trial we will succeed and gain a story to witness from.  No one wants to hear about how God is so great, when all they see is sunshine in your life, people are only truly impressed when you praise God when the storms of life are crushing you.  When you succeed where others fail, because of your surrender to Christ people see something real and true to seek after.

Pray: Lord Jesus I ask for Your revelation of truth.  I don’t understand what’s happening and nothing makes sense anymore.  You know all, and have me within Your hand.  Jesus please reveal Your heart to me.  Make Your plan real and concrete for me, so that I can follow Your path.  This is really hard and I need some light, help me to find joy in the little things.  You say Your joy is our strength and I need some.  Please grant me a quiet and gentle heart while I triumph through this.  Show me how I can demonstrate Your kingdom, here on earth.  I surrender my wants to Your needs.  I know You love me.  Thank you for all the blessings You are, and will rain down on me.  Amen. Love your daughter, Heather

What a goody good Christian! Good isn’t good enough.

Are you trying really hard to be good?  What is good? In the bible the first time the word good was used was in the description of God creating the universe.  In my seeking I found that we missed the interpretation, the word should not have read good but functional or (tov). The Hebrew word for good is tov and the word for evil is ra meaning dysfunctional. If you read the scripture that way, the meaning changes. Genesis 1:31a, God saw all that he had made, and it was very good (functional).

In the center of the garden of Eden there were two trees; the tree of life, and the tree of the knowledge of good (function) and evil (dysfunction).  We choose to rebel and disobey God and eat from the forbidden tree of knowledge of function and dysfunction.  No one can argue that our world is currently ruled by dysfunction. We choose dysfunction. Jesus said,  “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

When we pray we should not be asking to become good but rather to be restored to our original beings. To set our goal on being good has us fall, far short of what God created us to be.  Pray for restoration, to the people we were created to be, functional in a complete right standing with our creator. Full restoration and full access to the creator of the universe, and all the blessings He can rain down on us.

Strive for full restoration of function.  The question then becomes what is our function?  As a Christian our function is for complete obedience, zealous praise and a commitment to fervently seek after the Lord.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart Jeremiah 29:13.

Pray: Lord Jesus You tell us how Your ways are far above our ways and who can understand the creator of the universe.  But we seek after You, and in the seeking are blessed.  Jesus restore me to whom You created me to be.  Make me functional again.  My dysfunction is more than I can bear.  I want to be with You in complete congruence with Your desires.  Lord I don’t want to do anything contrary to Your will.  Help me to know who I am and what you want for me.  Bless me with Your revelation of my true self.  I know I am far from who I am designed to be and I ask for Your help to restore me to whom You created.  I trust You, Lord only You can save me. Love you, your daughter Heather

Divine connections: connecting God’s kingdom

I have often discovered that one conversation, a book or even a well placed laugh have altered the direction of my life.  I don’t know about you but sometimes I get stuck in playing the same anxiety ridden recording over and over again in my mind.  Rendering me unable  to develop a plan to uncover myself from the rubble of my life.

Prayer is the answer.  In prayer we can ask the maker of the universe for anything and He will deliver.  The key is what do we ask for, when we are so stuck in our own heads?

A well placed sermon dropped the concept of Divine connections into my world forever altering my prayer requests.  Divine connections are when God answers our hearts prayers through the use of fellow Christian brothers and sisters in our lives.  He connects us to the exact person who can meet our specific needs at the exact moment in history that we need it. There is no such thing as coincidences or luck.

Now I pray for divine connections, whenever I encounter a problem that I can’t even conceptualize let alone problem solve through.   When you submit to God in prayer, lifting up your needs, He will meet them under His perfect will and direction.

Just Tuesday as I was praying for divine connections to improve a puzzle wrought with anxiety and stabbing me with fear for 9 years the Lord set up a divine connection and a 5 minute conversation blew apart my problem and changed my perspective forever.  If your stuck ask God for divine connections.

Pray:  Lord Jesus I’m stuck again, I need your help.  Please grant me divine connections to help me in my miserable state.  I don’t know what to do but I believe that You can save me.  I know you hold me in Your perfect will and that you have plans for me to prosper me and not to harm me.  Help me to feel Your presence and love in my life.  I need you now,  I can’t do this alone.  Thank you God for your perfect love, direct me onto your path and I will submit my life to Your direction.  Love you God, amen.
