Revelation 21:19-21

The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones: the first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald,  the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. (NKJV)

Wow! If that’s what heavens gates look like just barely a glimpse within. No wonder people just want to squeak in. Salvation with a big sigh of relief. “Just made it”- victory dance and more than a few high fives.

Is there more than just the gates?

Why work for a closer relationship to Christ?

I too am guilty of just seeking His glory and am frightened to trust deeper. I refuse to live by fear but instead cling to His promises.

1 Corinthians 2:9  (NIV)

However, as it is written:

“What no eye has seen,
    what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”—
the things God has prepared for those who love him

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I acknowledge You in all things not just at the entrance but in the journey. Walk with me and teach me my heart. Open my eyes to the movement of heaven on earth. Search me and burn off what is chaff. Embolden my life to seek after what quickens Your heart. I desire Your throne room and not just Your gates. Thank You, Jesus in Your name. Amen.
