Should is make-believe

Stop shoulding:
Stop telling yourself , I should be able to do….., my kids should be able to do that… I should be doing more, achieving more…

or worse yet the shouldn’t s

I shouldn’t have to work this hard. My husband shouldn’t be doing that… I shouldn’t feel this way.

There are hidden deceptions lurking just below the surface, with all that shoulding, ready to steal our joy. One lie is that I can’t be happy without… We begin to question what does that mean if my kids can’t do that and so and so kids can. Will my kids ever be successful, happy etc. Whatever is going on in my life am I doomed to it forever? All these deceptions and make-believe scenarios, are time suckers and leave us exhausted.

God isn’t a make-believe or imaginary God. He is a real and ever present God. Ask for His wisdom and eternal perspective, not our fleeting and faulty view of reality.

Jeremiah 1:5
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

God has a specific plan for you and your family that does not involve wasting your time shoulding. Get out of the make believe in your head and begin looking to God’s promises for you. According to one person’s count there are 3,573 promises within the bible. What does God’s heart have for you?

Pray: God reveal Your heart to me. I need Your presence in my life. Help me to let go of the “shoulds” and embrace the joy of now and live. You are a great and mighty¬†God help me to remember with You for me, who can stand against me? I ask You to help replace my shoulds with thank you Lord. Thank you most high and sovereign God. Have your way within my life as I surrender my and my families future to You. Grant me Your wisdom and even a sliver of Your eternal perspective. Grant me Your revelations, Lord.
I love you and thank you Jesus. Amen

Joy!!!! What brings you Joy?

What brings you joy? Find it and keep it.

What God wants you to know about joy.
1) Joy gives you strength, it insulates you from this world. Joy gives you power to endure through trials.

2) God gave us joy because He loves us. Do not willingly lay it down without a fight. The evil one, the deceiver will try to steal your joy.

3) Ask for joy daily. The Lord your father wishes to give you amazing gifts ask for them daily.

Pray: Lord Jesus You say that your joy brings me strength. I need your strength right now. I am having a hard time recognizing and experiencing joy. I’m stuck Lord and I need your joy to pull me through this. Lord Jesus I need Your help to remind me that the power of the Holy Spirit is stronger within me than the power of this world. Remind me to call on the name of Jesus when the evil one tries to steal my joy with worry, anxiety or pain. Help me to find joy in the little things today. I love you and thank you for your many blessings.
